Who I Help

I work with sensitive, deep-feeling adults who are navigating stress, overwhelm, and old patterns that no longer feel aligned. My clients are often:

  • Highly sensitive people (HSPs) who feel everything deeply

  • High-achieving professionals who look “pulled together” on the outside but feel overwhelmed inside

  • Neurodivergent adults (ADHD, sensory differences) wanting a calmer, more regulated life

  • People-pleasers and perfectionists who feel guilty setting boundaries

  • Individuals carrying relationship trauma or anxiety in close connections

  • Those who feel chronically stressed, overstimulated, or emotionally drained

What Our Work Can Help With

Together, we might:

  • Untangle cycles of overthinking, self-criticism, and burnout

  • Build nervous system tools so you feel less on edge and more grounded

  • Practice boundaries that feel kind and firm

  • Explore how ADHD, anxiety, or past experiences shape your patterns today

  • Create more room for rest, joy, and relationships that actually feel good

Meet Brigid Geary, LCSW

Online Therapist in New Jersey and Illinois

I’m a trauma-informed psychotherapist who helps sensitive, high-achieving adults manage ADHD, burnout, and anxiety with more self-compassion and calm. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative— you don’t have to preform, over-explain, or have the “right” words when you show up here.

Together, we’ll gently notice your patterns, care for your nervous system, and build a life that supports who you actually are— not who you think you’re “supposed” to be.

Sessions feel much like in-person therapy—just from the comfort of your own space. Many clients find online therapy to be more flexible, accessible, and easier to fit into their daily lives.

  • No— you do not need a diagnosis to begin therapy. Many people start simply because they’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to navigatet a challenging season of life.

You don’t have to have everything labeled or figured out before reaching out. We’ll explore what you’re experiencing together and decide what support feels most helpful for you.

  • Yes—I work with ADHD and neuro-divergent adults and take a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach. That means I don’t see your brain as something to fix—our work focuses on understanding how your mind works, reducing shame, and building support strategies that actually fit you.

  • You’re not alone—this is a very common experience, and it doesn’t mean therapy can’t work for you now. Sometimes the fit wasn’t right, the timing wasn’t right, or the approach didn’t match what you truly needed at that stage of your life.

Every therapist, style, and season is different. If you choose to work together, we’ll move at your pace, stay collaborative, and focus on what feels most supportive and meaningful for you—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

It’s okay to feel hesitant and still be curious about trying again.

  • You don’t need to be in crisis, or have everything figured out, to start therapy. Many people reach out because they’re feelings overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply wanting more clarity and support in their lives.

If something inside you is wondering whether things could feel lighter, steadier, or more manageable, that curiosity alone is a valid reason to explore therapy. You’re allowed to seek support even if others might tell you to “just push through.”

Therapy is a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand yourself—at your own pace.
